What goes on the label
Each label has a Code 128 barcode of the FNSKU with white space on both sides, the FNSKU in plain letters under the bars, the product name in up to two lines, and the condition (New, or Used with its grade). An Amazon staff post on the Amazon.in seller forum names these four things as what a label must show.
Printing tips
- Print at 100% (Actual size). "Fit to page" shrinks the labels and moves them off the stickers.
- Thermal roll: set the printer's paper size to 50 x 25 mm. The bar widths suit 203 dpi thermal printers.
- A4 sheet: print one page on plain paper first and hold it against the sticker sheet. On a part-used sheet, type how many labels are already gone.
- Test one: scan a label with a phone barcode app. It should show the same FNSKU.
- Put the label on a flat side of the pack, away from corners, and cover any other barcode.
How to make FNSKU labels
- Copy the FNSKU of each product from your FBA inventory in Seller Central. Type it with the product name, the condition and how many labels you need. A list in Excel can be pasted in one go.
- Pick the label size: a 50 x 25 mm thermal roll (one label per page) or an A4 sticker sheet with 24 or 40 labels.
- Download the PDF and print it at 100% (Actual size). Scan one label with a phone barcode app before you print the rest.
Questions Amazon sellers ask
What is an FNSKU?
The FNSKU is the code Amazon uses to track your units inside its fulfilment centres (FBA). It is 10 letters and numbers and usually starts with X00, like X001ABCDEF. You find it next to each product in your FBA inventory in Seller Central. When a product is tracked by its maker's barcode, Seller Central shows the ASIN (starting B0) in that place instead.
What does an FNSKU label need to show?
An Amazon staff post on the Amazon.in seller forum lists four things: a barcode that scans, the number under it (the FNSKU), the product title and the condition, such as New. This tool prints all four. Amazon also asks for black print on white, non-reflective labels with adhesive, and says it does not accept damaged or photocopied labels.
Which label size should I pick?
The same Amazon staff post gives a range from about 1 x 2 inches to 2 x 3 inches. The A4 sheet with 24 labels (70 x 37 mm) sits well inside that range. The 50 x 25 mm thermal roll is a common roll size and a little under 1 x 2 inches, so if your fulfilment centre is strict about size, use the A4 sheet. The 40 label sheet is 52.5 x 29.7 mm. Check Amazon's current label rules in Seller Central if you are unsure.
Will Amazon accept these labels?
We cannot promise that: this tool is not made or checked by Amazon. It draws a standard Code 128 barcode, the kind Amazon's own FNSKU labels use, with clear white space on both sides, the FNSKU under it, the title and the condition. Print one label, scan it with a phone barcode app and check it shows the same FNSKU before you label your whole shipment.
Why is my product name cut short?
A small label fits two short lines of text. When the name is longer, the label keeps its start and its end with three dots in between, so a size or colour at the end of the name still shows. Hindi letters and emoji are left out because the label font cannot print them.
Do I need FNSKU labels for every product?
Not always. Amazon can track some products by the maker's barcode (EAN or UPC) instead. Products sold as used, products without a scannable maker's barcode and some other kinds need Amazon's own barcode. Check the barcode setting for each product in Seller Central. When you put an FNSKU label on, cover any other barcode on the pack.
Is anything I type uploaded?
No. The labels are made in this browser tab and the PDF is saved straight to your computer. Your list is kept in this browser so it is there next time, and Clear the list removes it.
