Meesho ads ROI calculator
Find the lowest ROI where your Meesho ads stop losing money. Type your price, what one piece costs you, and how many ad orders come back as RTO and as returns.
Filled with sample numbers. Type your own, RTO and returns too.
Of every 100 orders from ads
Usual numbers filled in: packing ₹10, return courier ₹175 and you file GST, 5% GST on the product.
Break-even ROI
4
Set ROI at 4 or above. Below that, ads can cost more than these orders make.
100 ad orders, with 20 RTO and 12 customer returns among them, make ₹12,537 before ads, on ₹49,900 of ad sales.
Type the ROI your Meesho ads panel shows to see what you keep at it.
Left after ads, on 100 ad orders
Break-even ROI = the ad sales your Meesho ads panel counts ÷ your profit before ads. This reads the panel's ROI as sales from all ad orders ÷ ad cost. Ask Support if yours counts something else.
| 100 ad orders, before ads | |
|---|---|
| 68 delivered × ₹215.24Profit on one order, after GST, cost and packing | ₹14,636.32 |
| 12 customer returns × ₹158.31₹175 return courier + ₹10 packing, less ₹26.69 GST credit | −₹1,899.72 |
| 20 RTO × ₹10Packing lost. No return fee on an RTO. | −₹200 |
| Profit before ads | ₹12,536.60 |
| Break-even ROI | |
| Ad sales your Meesho ads panel counts: 100 × ₹499 | ₹49,900 |
₹49,900 ÷ ₹12,536.60 = 3.98, rounded up: 4
Ad sales are worked on your price, ₹499. The buyer also pays shipping on top. If your Meesho ads panel counts that too, type what the buyer pays and the break-even goes up.
The ads are counted at the spend your Meesho ads panel shows. You file GST, so any 18% GST added to it comes back to you as credit.
If your Meesho ads panel counts only delivered orders: ₹33,932 ÷ ₹12,536.60 = 2.71, rounded up: 2.8.

Shipping is not a line here because the buyer pays it: the marketplace adds it on top of your price and takes it back from your payment. On real payment files it nets to about ₹0, within about ₹2 an order. TCS and TDS are left out: they come back to you as tax credit.

What the ROI on your Meesho panel counts
In November 2025 Meesho said it had moved to ROI-based ads: you set the return you want from your ad money, and Meesho spends it only when it expects to reach that (news interview, Storyboard18, 29 November 2025). So ROI is a sales number: ad sales ÷ ad spend. Meesho's ads page says the Advertisement overview shows the ROI, but not whether it counts orders placed or only delivered ones, or whether returns are taken out (page checked 14 October 2026). This calculator reads it as sales from all ad orders, before returns. That gives the higher break-even of the two.
Two more things are not public: whether the ad sales use your price or what the buyer pays with shipping, and whether the spend shown has the 18% GST inside. Here the ad sales use the higher of your price and what the buyer pays (type it if you know it), and if you do not file GST, the ads are counted at 1.18 × the spend.
Full explanation, and how to find your ad orders in the payment file: Meesho ads ROI vs your real profit.
What this calculator leaves out
- GST on your supplier's bill. If you claim it back, your profit is a little higher and your break-even a little lower than shown.
- A piece that comes back damaged or wrong. The calculator assumes a returned piece comes back fine and goes back into stock. If it does not, raise a claim: how to claim for a Meesho return.
How to use the Meesho ads ROI calculator
- Type your price on the panel and what one piece costs you. Packing, return courier and GST start on usual numbers: click Change to set yours.
- Type how many of every 100 ad orders come back as RTO and as customer returns. In your payment file, filter Order source to "Ad order" and count them by status.
- Read the break-even ROI and set your ads ROI above it. Type the ROI your panel shows to see what you keep at it.
Questions Meesho sellers ask
What does break-even ROI mean?
It is the ROI where your ads neither make nor lose money: the ad cost takes exactly the profit those ad orders make. Break-even ROI = the ad sales your panel counts ÷ your profit before ads. With the starting numbers (a ₹499 product that costs you ₹250, ₹10 packing, and 20 RTO and 12 returns in every 100 ad orders), 100 ad orders make ₹12,537 before ads on ₹49,900 of ad sales: ₹49,900 ÷ ₹12,537 = about 4. Set your ROI at it or above.
Why does it ask for RTO and returns separately?
Because they cost different amounts. An RTO has no courier charge, so you lose only the packing: ₹10 here. A customer return also pays the return courier, ₹175 on most returns in the payment files we checked, so ₹185 with packing, of which ₹27 comes back as GST credit if you file GST. Both can count as ad sales on the panel and still never pay you.
Is the 18% GST on ads in the answer?
Yes, on the safe side. Your Meesho payment file bills the ad cost and adds 18% GST on top, but Meesho does not say whether the spend on your ads panel is before or after that GST. If you file GST, that GST comes back to you either way, so the calculator counts the ads at the spend. If you do not, the GST is a cost you keep, so it counts the ads at 1.18 × the spend. With the starting numbers, a seller who does not file GST needs about 4.3. "See how it is worked out" shows yours.
What if my panel's ROI counts only delivered orders?
Then the ad sales are smaller, and so is the ROI you need. With the starting numbers, 68 delivered orders are ₹33,932 of sales: ₹33,932 ÷ ₹12,537 = 2.71, rounded up 2.8. Meesho's public pages do not say which orders the ROI counts, so ask Support. "See how it is worked out" shows both.
My ROI is above break-even but I still lost money: why?
Usually one of these: more orders came back than you typed; the month was not over yet, so returns were still coming; or your panel counts something else, like what the buyer pays with shipping, or only the extra sales it thinks the ad brought. If you know what the buyer pays, type it: the break-even is then worked on it. Check a month that ended 2 to 3 weeks ago in your payment file: filter Order source to "Ad order" and count them by Live Order Status, and the Ads Cost sheet shows what the ads took.
Are forward shipping, TCS and TDS in the sum?
No. Shipping is not a line here because the buyer pays it: Meesho adds it on top of your price and takes it back from your payment. On real payment files it nets to about ₹0, within about ₹2 an order. TCS and TDS are taken from your payment but come back to you as tax credit, so they are left out, as in our Meesho profit calculator.
