Flipkart publishes its commission rules, but not its fixed fee, shipping or return fees. Those boxes, under More details, hold estimates: change them to the rate card in your seller dashboard. Returns, RTO, packing and ads on orders that do not stay are shared over the ones that do. Fees include 18% GST, which comes back in the GST line. Your bank gets about 0.6% less for a while (TCS and TDS, returned when you file).
How Flipkart charges sellers
Commission rules from Flipkart's own pages; fixed fee, shipping and return fees are estimates, checked 13 Oct 2026.
- Commission: 0% on everything under ₹1,000 (since 14 Nov 2025) and 0% on all fashion at any price (since 8 Jul 2026). Shopsy charges 0% on everything.
- Fixed fee: per delivered order, by price and seller tier (Platinum pays less, Bronze ₹10 more). Flipkart shows the amount only in your seller dashboard.
- Shipping: by weight and zone. Local and zonal are free under 500 g. National costs more; check your rate card.
- Collection fee: on cash-on-delivery orders only.
- Customer return: a return fee; the commission is given back and the fixed fee is charged on delivered orders only.
- TCS 0.5% and TDS 0.1% are held from each payment and come back when you file GST and income tax.
- Payment: about 7 to 10 days after dispatch, faster for higher tiers.
Example: a ₹499 kurta on Flipkart
A ₹499 kurta, 500 g, national, seller ships, Bronze tier, prepaid (fixed fee and shipping are estimates):
- Commission
- ₹0 (fashion is 0%)
- Fixed fee
- about ₹26
- Shipping
- about ₹40
- GST on the fees
- ₹11.88, claimed back
- Lands in your bank
- about ₹418
You keep about ₹409 before your own cost and packing. With the range of published fee figures, ₹378 to ₹433.
How the calculator works it out
It follows 100 orders. Some never reach the buyer (RTO), some reach the buyer and come back (customer returns), and the rest stay delivered. What the returns, RTOs, packing and ads cost on the orders that did not stay is shared over the ones that did, so the answer is the real profit on each order you keep.
Fees are shown with their 18% GST, the cash you pay. That GST comes back in the GST line as input credit. Type any number of orders to see every line as orders × amount, so you can check the sum yourself.
See it for the products you already sell
The calculator is a what-if. Inside OrderLens, the same sum runs on your real orders and payments, product by product, for every store you run. Create a free account.
Questions sellers ask
Does Flipkart charge commission on fashion?
No. Since 8 July 2026 Flipkart charges 0% commission on all fashion (clothing, footwear and fashion jewellery) at any price, and since 14 November 2025 0% on everything under ₹1,000.
Why are the fixed fee and shipping boxes estimates?
Flipkart shows those amounts only inside your seller dashboard, and they change with your price, weight, zone and tier. Type the numbers from your own rate card for an exact answer.
Is shipping free on Flipkart?
Local and zonal shipping is free for parcels under 500 g. National shipping and heavier parcels are charged by weight; check your rate card.
