Shipping is not a line here because the buyer pays it: the marketplace adds it on top of your price and takes it back from your payment. On real payment files it nets to about ₹0, within about ₹2 an order. Returns, RTO, packing and ads on orders that do not stay are shared over the ones that do. Fees include 18% GST, which comes back in the GST line. Your bank gets about 0.6% less for a while (TCS and TDS, returned when you file).
How Meesho charges sellers
Checked against real Meesho payment files from 2026.
- Commission: 0%. No fixed fee and no collection fee on normal orders.
- Forward shipping: paid by the buyer on top of your price. Meesho takes it back with 18% GST, and you claim that GST back, so it costs you about nothing.
- RTO (the parcel never reached the buyer): no shipping charge.
- Customer return (the buyer sends it back): a return courier fee set by weight. In the 2026 payment files we checked it was ₹175 on almost every return.
- GST: you pay the GST inside your price (5% for most clothing). The 18% GST inside Meesho's charges and ads comes back as input credit.
- TCS 0.5% and TDS 0.1% are held from each payment and come back when you file GST and income tax.
- Payment arrives on a 7-day cycle after delivery.
Example: a ₹499 kurta on Meesho
A ₹499 kurta at 5% GST, where the buyer's shipping is ₹56 (real 2026 payment file):
- The buyer pays
- ₹555 (₹499 + ₹56 shipping)
- Meesho takes back shipping
- −₹62.93 (₹53.33 + 18% GST)
- TCS and TDS held
- −₹3.17, returned when you file
- Lands in your bank
- ₹488.90
- GST you pay, after credits
- ₹14.19
You keep ₹475.24 before your own cost and packing: your price less the GST inside it. Shipping cost you ₹0.
How the calculator works it out
It follows 100 orders. Some never reach the buyer (RTO), some reach the buyer and come back (customer returns), and the rest stay delivered. What the returns, RTOs, packing and ads cost on the orders that did not stay is shared over the ones that did, so the answer is the real profit on each order you keep.
Fees are shown with their 18% GST, the cash you pay. That GST comes back in the GST line as input credit. Type any number of orders to see every line as orders × amount, so you can check the sum yourself.

Questions sellers ask
Does Meesho charge sellers a commission?
No. Meesho charges 0% commission and no fixed or collection fee on normal orders. The money you lose comes from returns, the return courier, ads and the GST you pay on your sale.
Who pays shipping on Meesho?
The buyer. Meesho adds the shipping charge on top of your price at checkout, then takes that same amount plus 18% GST back from your payment. You claim the 18% GST back as input credit, so forward shipping costs you almost nothing.
What does an RTO cost on Meesho?
Nothing in shipping. An RTO (return to origin) is a parcel that never reached the buyer. Meesho does not charge for it, but you lose the packing, and the piece is away from your stock for a while.
What is the Meesho return charge?
When a buyer receives the parcel and sends it back, you pay a return courier fee. Meesho sets it by the parcel's weight. In the 2026 payment files we checked it was ₹175 on almost every return. The piece comes back to your stock.
Which price should I type?
Your own price on the seller panel, the number you type when you list the product. Not what the buyer pays: that includes shipping, and it changes with where the buyer lives.
