- You keep₹491.92
- Forward shipping₹45
- TCS + TDS (tax credits)₹3.08
Example numbers. The ₹540 includes the shipping the customer paid.
Meesho's pricing page says "Meesho charges 0% Commission rate across all categories", and its home page says "Sell online on Meesho at 0% commission". The payment files agree. The Meesho Commission column was ₹0 on every order, and every other fee column (fixed fee, warehousing, platform fees) was ₹0 too.
What a delivered order loses
Worked example
One delivered order, every charge in the file
| Customer paidYour ₹500 price plus ₹40 the customer paid for shipping | ₹540 |
| Commission | ₹0 |
| Fixed, warehousing and platform fees | ₹0 |
| Forward shippingThe customer paid ₹40 of this inside the ₹540 | −₹45 |
| TCS (0.5%)Comes back to you through GST | −₹2.57 |
| TDS (0.1%)Comes back in your income tax return | −₹0.51 |
| Final Settlement Amount | ₹491.92 |
Example numbers. About ₹492, which is about 98% of the ₹500 listing price. Packaging and your product cost come out of this.
- TCS (a GST rule): 0.5% of the sale without GST. Once you accept it on the GST portal, you can use it to pay your GST. See TCS and TDS on Meesho.
- TDS (an income tax rule): 0.1% of the same amount. It counts against your income tax when you file your return, and any extra is refunded.
What forward shipping really costs you
The Shipping Charge column looks like the biggest cut, but most of it is the customer's money. Your price is ₹500. The customer paid ₹540: your ₹500 plus ₹40 for shipping. Meesho takes ₹45 for shipping. So shipping really costs you about ₹5, not ₹45.
Worked example
Shipping on one ₹500 order
| Customer paid for shipping₹540 paid minus your ₹500 price | ₹40 |
| Shipping taken from your paymentThe Shipping Charge column | −₹45 |
| What shipping really costs you | −₹5 |
Example numbers. In the files the charge was usually about ₹43 (most orders ₹29 to ₹52), and on most orders it was ₹8 to ₹9 more than what the customer paid for shipping. Check yours: Total Sale Amount minus Listing Price, against Shipping Charge.
What else can be taken
- Return shipping: a flat ₹175 on about 94% of returns, whatever the price. See return and RTO charges.
- RTO (the courier could not deliver): ₹0 on every RTO.
- Ads, only if you run them. The Ads Cost sheet shows what ads took from your payment, with 18% GST added after any credits or discounts. See Meesho ads ROI.
- Affiliate Fee: taken back on about 5% of delivered orders, plus about 60 more with a blank status. About 6.2% to 6.5% of the sale without GST, so about ₹30 on a ₹500 sale. It was not tied to the "Ad order" mark, and the files don't say what triggers it. If you see it often, ask Support which orders it is for and why.
- Claims go the other way: money paid to you when a returned parcel was wrong, damaged or had missing items, usually 2 to 4 weeks after the order.
Are there hidden charges?
Not in the file. Every rupee taken has its own column, and Final Settlement Amount added up exactly on every order we checked. What surprises sellers is costs that come later, or never show in the file:
- Returns. Almost every one cost ₹175 and earned nothing. A few returns can eat the profit of many good orders.
- Packaging. On every parcel you send, delivered, returned or RTO. It is in no file.
- Late returns. If a return comes after you were paid, the whole sale is taken back and return shipping charged, so that entry can be −₹600 or more.
- The Affiliate Fee, which can come on its own about 2 to 4 weeks after the order.
Questions sellers ask
How much commission does Meesho take?
Meesho's pricing page says 0% across all categories. The Meesho Commission column was ₹0 on every order we saw. Check the Meesho Commission column in your own file.
How much does Meesho charge on one order?
On a delivered order: forward shipping (mostly paid by the customer), plus TCS 0.5% and TDS 0.1%, which are tax credits. The seller kept about 98% of the listing price.
How much does Meesho charge for shipping?
The Shipping Charge was usually about ₹43 an order. But the customer pays most of it on top of your price, so it costs you only a few rupees: on a ₹500 price, the customer paid ₹40 for shipping and ₹45 was taken, so about ₹5.
Why is my Meesho shipping charge high?
Meesho's pages give no rate card for forward shipping. They say only that shipping charges carry 18% GST, and that the return fee goes by weight. The charge varied a lot by order (most ₹29 to ₹52, a few up to about ₹110), so check how much of it the customer paid: Total Sale Amount minus Listing Price.
Does Meesho have hidden charges?
Not in the payment file: every deduction has its own column. What surprises sellers is return shipping (often ₹175 a return), packaging, late returns and the Affiliate Fee.
What is the Affiliate Fee in my Meesho payment?
A Recovery with the reason "Affiliate Fee", about 6.2% to 6.5% of the sale without GST. It hit about 5% of delivered orders, plus about 60 more with a blank status. The files don't say what triggers it, so ask Support if you see it often.
Is there GST on Meesho ads?
Yes. The Ads Cost sheet added 18% GST after credits or discounts, and took the total from the payment.
